TARZAN & THE APES Artist Proof Edition Paper Print by Neal Adams (Signed)
This auction features the amazing TARZAN & THE APES limited edition print by NEAL ADAMS! This was published in 1978 for the NATIONAL CARTOONISTS SOCIETY PORTFOLIO OF FINE COMIC ART. It is SIGNED, and measures 12 x 16. This is an extremely rare AP edition. This is a great find as we thought we had SOLD OUT of these many years ago. It was nearly 15 years ago that we purchased most of the remaining inventory of these portfolio SETS, which also included many loose prints, and special APs (ARTIST PROOFS) that the publisher had stored for many years (as of this writing these prints are 40 years old!). HISTORY of ADAMS'S pieces: you will notice there is NO number. They only published 1500 in the original edition. The publisher didn't number Neal's pieces as APs. We aren't sure why and neither was the publisher when we purchased these. Thus, any of Neal's pieces unnumbered are technically APs. Over the years we have sold off a majority of this inventory, but recently we "re-discovered" some of these rarities that we had packed away. There may be ever-so-slight corner dings on each corner.
