"ALL AMERICAN WESTERN 121 pg 7" Painted Production Art - Greg Theakston paint on Alex Toth art (Unsigned)
This piece features incredible HAND PAINTED production art by GREG THEAKSTON. Mr. Theakston created hand-colored production art for the 1992 GREATEST 1950s STORIES EVER TOLD. Each page is colored in gorgeous watercolor, and was used as reference by the printer as a color guide when the hardcover was published. This story was originally published in ALL AMERICAN WESTERN 121 in 1951. This is PAGE 7 of that issue, corresponding to page 183 of the hardcover collection. It is fun to see classic ALEX TOTH art embellished with beautiful watercolors. Each of these official production art pieces measures 8 1/2 x 11. Many pages still have some tape residue on the top edges and even some color swatches in the margins used as reference as these were being painted. The COMPLETE STORY was purchased directly from the color artist by our gallery, and there are very few pages left.
